Is APR compatible with my modem?

APR will detect if it can take advantage of your modem voice capabilities. If it's not possible to work it will inform you with the message that "your modem is not compatible with IS101 command set". Many modern modems now support this standard and many manufacturers adopt but nothing is for sure. Usually modems having Conexant chip will respond positively and APR will work sufficiently.     What kind of of modem i have to use with APR?
Modems are hardware derives that make it possible to connect a phone line via standard serial port or USB.  Modem stands for modulator/demodulator. They modulate the outgoing serial data so the serial port can receive it. Variations include ISDN modems xDSL modems. They are somewhat difficult to work with in a general manner since there are different standards used by modem manufacturers that define communication between an application and the modem.
Many potential APR users ask, "What modem should I buy?" Those of you asking the question probably had a hard time getting a straight answer. Unfortunately, this particular question is difficult to answer. We only suggest the modems we have test APR.
The modem market is extremely dynamic and competitive. Any modem may cease to exist tomorrow or the manufacturer of the modem may have disappeared all of a sudden.
This level of competition has driven margins down to a bare minimum. Unfortunately, the competition seems to be primarily based on price and feature set.. Competition is good, but not when it gets to the point that corners are cut. Top

Is it possible to use mass actions, like mass copy, mass delete mass move?

Select the recording you want by holding the shift key down and pressing the down arrow or by holding the Ctlr  key down and clicking with the mouse the files you want, click the right button for your mouse and select the appropriate action. If you want to select all of the recordings press Ctrl+a at the same time and all of them will be selected. Is it possible to record a conversation and at the same time use Internet?

If you use your analog voice modem to connect to Internet this is not possible. Your modem has to be available for this task. If you accidentally call APR when you are connected to Internet it will inform you than the serial port is not available to connect to.  If you use a different mode for Internet connections such as a DSL or ISDN modem then you can use it freely. I installed it successfully but when I run the application the following message
"linked to missing export OLEOUT32.DLL:VarNot"

When attempting to run APR (for the first time) a message box containing the following error is displayed:
The Apr.EXE is linked to the missing export OLEAUT32.DLL: VarNot
The program that is being run requires a later version of OLE Automation (i.e.LEAUT32.DLL).
This error can be resolved by downloading the latest DCOM service pack from Microsoft (http://msdn.microsoft.com):
At the last time of checking, for Windows 95 the latest version was "DCOM95 for Windows 95 version1.3" download
from http://www.microsoft.com/com/dcom/dcom95/dcom1_3.asp
At the last time of checking, for Windows 98 the latest version was "DCOM98 for Windows 98 version 1.3" download from
http://www.microsoft.com/com/dcom/dcom98/dcom1_3.asp
Alternately download the latest version of Internet Explorer - this will update the DCOM components at the same time. Top

What is TAPI?

TAPI stands for Telephony Application Programming Interface. It is an attempt by Microsoft to simplify the process of communication with the modem. It is a standardized API with witch an application can interface. It is supposed to simplify things in a standardized way. Under TAPI, a great deal of burden is removed form the application developer in favor of placing the burden on the designers of the operating systems and the modem manufacturers. This point has good and bad sides. It's great if everything works as planned, but it doesn't happen always this way.

   Does
APR supports TAPI?
